DOHA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) – Paris Saint-Germain’s Lee Kang-in on Monday helped two-time champions South Korea beat Bahrain 3-1 in the first round of Group E of the AFC Asian Cup here. He defeated them and scored two goals.
South Korea broke the deadlock with a goal from Hwang In-beom in the 38th minute, but Bahrain fought back and equalized in the 51st minute with Abdullah Al Hasash scoring from close range.
Lee Gang-in shined in the second half, with the 22-year-old midfielder scoring in the 56th and 68th minutes respectively.
Lee said after the game, “These are not just my two goals. All the goals we scored were very important for the team. I just want to emphasize that it’s not about individual performance.”
