Friday – The King Kekaulike High School Athletic Department is recruiting for several head coaching positions for the upcoming 2024 spring season. Head coaches are required for boys and girls tennis, boys and girls golf, girls track and field, and baseball. Thursday – The second of five LPGA/USGA girls golf events at The Dunes at Mauilani is scheduled for Thursday. Girls Golf is the only junior golf program for girls ages 6 to 17 dedicated to providing a girl-friendly environment to learn the game, according to the event website. In addition to Thursday’s event, sessions will also be held on November 2nd, November 16th, and November 30th. All Maui events are set for 4:00-5:30 p.m., and the cost is $10 per Junior for each event. Registration can be completed on the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf App. For more information, visit girlsgolf.org.
Jan. 4 – Volunteer registration is now open for the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua Plantation Course. The tournament, set for the first week of January, with the first round beginning on January 4, will be the opening round of the 2024 PGA Tour season. Various committees that potential volunteers can join include ShotLink (including both walking scorers and laser operators), on-course transportation, gallery management, admissions and information, supplies and product distribution, and more . Oct. 28 – Hale Kaukau’s Stomp Out Hangar 5K and 1 Mile Walk is scheduled for Oct. 28 in Kihei. The 5K run will start at 8 a.m. at St. Teresa Church, 25 W Lipoa Street, followed by a one-mile walk. Parking is free on site. After the race, breakfast will be provided to all participants and volunteers. An awards ceremony and Halloween costume contest will be held during breakfast. Sponsorships are still available. Donations are also being accepted for the “WIN WIN For Maui County” fundraiser. To sign up and learn more, visit halekaukau.org.
