The Columbus East girls basketball team raised about $3,500 when the Olympians hosted a “Pink Night” at the Orange Pit in preparation for Friday night’s game against Mooresville.
East wore pink uniforms during the game to honor cancer survivors, those battling cancer, and those who have lost their battle to cancer. All proceeds will go to the Indianapolis-based Indiana Women’s Assistance Foundation.
Eastern boys basketball begins Tuesday
Columbus North and Hauser played their men’s basketball season opener on Tuesday, but it will be almost a week before Columbus East begins its season under new coach Perry Nash.
The Olympians will host Whiteland in their season opener on Tuesday, with JV tip-off at 6 p.m., followed by varsity at approximately 7:30 p.m.
North vs. Jennings game postponed
The Jennings County boys basketball game at Columbus North, originally scheduled for Dec. 6, has been rescheduled for Jan. 16.
The co-team game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and the varsity game is scheduled to take place around 7:30 p.m.
Jennings’ wrestling match was canceled.
The Jennings County double dual wrestling event scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.
