STC Bahrain has announced the selection of 33 Bahraini graduates for the jeel ICT program. This 100% nationalized talent development initiative is strategically organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), Tamkeen, and development partner Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The aim is to equip young people with the following skills: Valuable work experience, skills and knowledge to advance your career in the dynamic field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The Jeel ICT program, which evolved from STC Bahrain’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) launched in 2012, builds on the Saudi commitment to invest in Bahraini youth’s ICT capabilities and competencies through world-class training and career development opportunities. Emphasized.
Amid overwhelming response, over 3,000 applications were received for the jeel ICT program in one year, with over 25% of applications coming from the Ministry of Labor’s talent pool. After a rigorous evaluation process by a panel of judges, 800 applicants were shortlisted and 33 outstanding graduates were selected.
A notable aspect of the selection process was the use of a gamified psychometric assessment, which provided all 200 candidates with BHD 10,000 worth of customized development feedback upon completion. This innovative approach aims to create a sustainable and thorough selection process and is carried out through a gamified method of developing customized feedback documents for each candidate.
The 33 selected graduates will undergo a 12-month internship at STC Bahrain and benefit from a state-of-the-art learning experience facilitated through a dedicated learning platform and learning applications. With over 45,000 hours of development time invested, the program includes over 5,000 hours of coaching and mentoring (C&M) to ensure a comprehensive and immersive education.
Graduates will be involved in real-world applications, working on more than 60 projects and gaining practical experience in various aspects of information and communication technology, hackathons, ideation and incubation processes. Additionally, the graduate will receive a monthly salary and medical insurance during her one-year internship at STC Bahrain. Upon completion, ten exemplary candidates will be offered permanent employment, contributing to the growth of Bahrain’s highly skilled workforce.
Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labor, praised STC Bahrain’s commitment to the local community and particularly praised the training program, which provides Bahraini graduates with essential skills and experience in the ICT field.
