Stuart Police arrest man who set fire to vintage car
Stuart police have arrested a man for intentionally setting a classic car on fire. The incident occurred on Aug. 17, when Stuart Fire Rescue responded to a call of a vehicle fire and extinguished the blaze, which involved a classic 1955 Oldsmobile 98. The state fire marshal’s office classified the fire as arson, and Stuart police began an investigation. Police identified the suspect as Arthur Zinsaretto, 59, who had previously encountered the car’s owner. Surveillance footage from surrounding businesses aided the investigation. On Oct. 19, a warrant for Zinzaretto’s arrest was approved for intentionally setting a vehicle on fire. Less than 12 hours after the warrant was filed, Zinzaretto was located, arrested, and charged with arson and robbery. He is currently being held in the Martin County Jail.
