Liam Talbot will join D’station Racing during the Bahrain 8 Hours due to an “inevitable scheduling conflict” with bronze medal winning driver Satoshi Hoshino.
Talbot will join the line-up in the #777 Aston Martin Vantage AMR, teaming up with Casper Stephenson and Tomonobu Fujii for the eight-hour finale of the FIA World Endurance Championship season.
This will be the Australian driver’s first WEC appearance, although he has previously competed in the Asian Le Mans Series several times. He most recently teamed up with Jules Gounon and Ollie Milroy in the HubAuto Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo earlier this year.
He also helped Hub Auto win the 2019-20 GT title, earning the team an invitation to the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Talbot currently leads the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS standings with one race to go and won the Pro-Am class at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hours in February.
D’station, on the other hand, endured a tough season and finished last in the GTE-Am standings with four points. The season finale in Bahrain will be the final appearance for the GTE-Am class before it is replaced by LMGT3 next year.
