En route to the final, Littler landed a sensational nine-darter against Nathan Aspinall, becoming the youngest player to do so in a televised tournament.
Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has won the Bahrain Darts Masters final, securing his first Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) senior title.
The 16-year-old, from Warrington, Cheshire, defeated three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen 8-5 in the final at Sakhir.
He also became the youngest player to hit nine darters in the opening leg in a televised tournament with his quarterfinal victory over Nathan Aspinall.
Littler, who turns 17 on Sunday, said the tournament was the first time he had thrown a dart since his life-changing performance at the World Darts Championship.
He made headlines earlier this month when he became the youngest player to reach the finals of the World Darts Championship.

He lost that match to new world number one Luke Humphries, but revealed his ability to compete at the highest level with a sensational run at Alexandra Palace in north London.
He has also qualified for the Premier League Darts, which starts next month.
Littler, nicknamed “The Nuke,” later congratulated the 28-year-old Humphries on his win, saying he “deserved it” and that he was “the better man on the night.”
Littler, a Manchester United fan, told Sky News after the defeat: He was receiving messages from the likes of David Beckham.as well as current stars Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans.
The teenager, who won £200,000 for reaching the final of the World Darts Championship, also said: “I just want to go home, turn the Xbox back on and just relax.”
