The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has made its presence known at the start of the four-week World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) in the United Arab Emirates.
Organized every four years by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the WRC is one of the most important industry events, attracting around 4,000 participants, including representatives from member countries, international organizations and manufacturers.
TRA actively participates in discussions, workshops and sessions that delve into the latest technologies and advances, viewing its participation as a strategic opportunity to strengthen global cooperation and advance wireless communications in Bahrain.
The Bahraini delegation plays an important role representing the Arab Spectrum Group in the 4th and 5th Working Committees of the ITU Radiocommunications Assembly (RA-23).
Additionally, they are also significantly contributing to the oversight of the electoral process, the official revealed.
A highlight of the conference was the signing of an international treaty governing the use of the radio frequency spectrum.
With its dedicated efforts, TRA has aimed to optimize the use of frequency spectrum, align with the requirements of the Kingdom, and promote sustainable progress in the field of wireless communications.
The agency’s active involvement underscores its commitment to shaping the future landscape of wireless communications both domestically and globally, officials said.
