LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – On Friday, United Supermarkets teamed up with Science Spectrum to celebrate the reopening of the United Market exhibit in the Lubbock Children’s Museum portion of the facility.
Introduced in 2012, the Lubbock Children’s Museum is a space designed to engage and educate children ages 5 and under. Alongside a veterinary clinic, news studio and other interactive exhibits, the United Market, a miniature version of the real United Supermarkets location, gives children the chance to learn where their food comes from. .
“United Supermarkets has been a great partner for many years and we are very pleased with their support,” said Sandy Henry, President of Science Spectrum. “In addition to other exhibits at the Lubbock Children’s Museum, United His Market provides a great opportunity to learn about a place where children are probably often seen with their parents.”
One of the most important things United Supermarkets does in our communities is supporting education. This partnership provides United with the opportunity to continue supporting one of the South Plains’ most unique educational opportunities.
“We’re so excited to have the miniature market open and open for kids to learn and play,” said Abby Lumpey, communications director for United Family. “Science Spectrum has long been a source of education and fun in this community, and we invite you to take your kids and see everything this place has to offer, including the newly renovated United Market. I hope I get the opportunity.”
Renovations at United Market included updated signage, baskets, toy food and more. From miniature check stands to tiny baskets, kids are ready to help mom and dad on their next trip to the store.
