Saginaw, Michigan – Virginia women’s basketball assistant coach Tori Jankoska was officially inducted into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5, at the Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw Township, Michigan.
Jankoska was a four-time all-state player at Freeland High School from 2010 to 2013, scoring a Saginaw County record with 2,333 points and ranking ninth all-time in Michigan. Jankoska averaged 24.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 steals in high school. During her senior year, she was named Miss Michigan Basketball and the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
After graduating from Freeland, Jankoska played four seasons (2013-2017) at Michigan State University, where he became the program record holder for career points (2,212), field goals made (707), and 3-pointers made (320). , the result was 2nd place. Assist (489). At MSU, she averaged 16.9 points per game, including her 22.6 points per game her senior year.
Jankoska was selected ninth overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2017 WNBA Draft and went on to play for Polish basketball team Basket Gdynia.
Prior to arriving at the University of Virginia in 2022, Jankoska served as an assistant coach at Missouri State University for three seasons (2019-22) under current UVA head coach Amaka Agugua Hamilton. Jankoska and the Lady Bears made consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2021-22), including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2021.
Jankoska is one of eight inductees into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame, including two-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner and Michigan State University alumnus Jason Richardson.
