Washington: The Huskies are looking for their first undefeated season since 1991. Billy Joe Hobart and Mario Bailey led Washington’s offense, and it was the only time Washington won a national title.
Washington is also hoping for its first CFP win. The Huskies’ only appearance in the playoffs was after the 2016 season, when Washington lost to Alabama in the Peach Bowl.
Texas: The Longhorns are seeking their first national title since Vince Young ran into the end zone against USC at the end of the 2005 season to win the Rose Bowl. And even though Texas plays in the SEC, the Big 12 will probably feel some pride in a Texas win. Texas will be the second Big 12 team to play for a national title in the CFP era, joining TCU.
