In Dallas, Texas, and throughout the Lone Star State, we love pickup trucks. In fact, nearly 20% of the people here drive cars? We do them because we like them, they are convenient, and we feel safe. However, it turns out that they are not the safest cars to drive.
No, that title goes to Subaru. According to Glass Doctor, it is the vehicle with the lowest number of traffic fatalities in Texas. In fact, this is true for a total of 17 states. Nationally, the safest brand is Subaru, followed by Mercedes-Benz and Audi (but how many Subarus do you see on Texas roads?)
This data study examines the safest and least safe car brands in each U.S. state, based on more than a decade of fatal crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
So which brands are the “most dangerous”?
When it comes to the most dangerous car brands in Texas, “Dodge has the most fatal crashes of any other car brand in most U.S. states (64%).”
The website also notes that both Buick and GMC rank highly in the study. “Buick ranks among the top three brands with the most fatal crashes in 23 out of 50 states. Likewise, GMC ranks among the top three in 10 states.”
That’s across America, and as far as Texas is concerned, the third most dangerous car brand is Chevrolet, second is Mitsubishi, and first is Dodge. You can read more about their findings here.
Maybe we need more Subarus on the road?Texas is far from the top state in terms of Subaru sales by state in the US.
