Recently we have I have organized the steps That may have something to do with the managers’ efforts to install Bill Belichick as the next head coach. That approach (or any other outcome that involves Belichick leaving New England) would leave the Patriots without a head coach.
So who will take over?
Many believe that Jerrod Mayo is the coach-in-waiting in New England. And that may actually be the case. But what about Mike Vrabel?
Someone with a pretty good understanding of how things work pitched the idea to us in early July. Belichick leaves, Patriots send Vrabel home.
The Patriots would obviously need to sign a contract with the Titans, just as the commander would need to sign a contract with the Patriots. And obviously Vrabel would want to do that too.
He was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame last month. He is loved by his fans. He is respected by Belichick. He went from the Patriot Way (which, as I’ll explain later this morning, is no longer working) to the Vrabel’s Way, which has worked in Tennessee despite some less-than-ideal personnel decisions by the front office. It could be the perfect bridge to.
Earlier this week, Ben Bolin boston globe I have identified “”dream scenarioIn 2024, Vrabel will be the head coach, Mayo will be the defensive coordinator, and Josh McDaniels will be the offensive coordinator.
For that dream to become a reality, many things have to happen. As the second half of the season approaches and owners start looking at potential upgrades from their current situation, it’s at least worth looking at that possibility.
