OWN Real Estate, an agency headquartered in San Francisco’s South Bay that reported more than $209 million in sales in 2022, has switched affiliations to Keller Williams.
The company recently collaborated with Mr. Said for over three years. OWN was affiliated with Keller Williams from 2014 until 2019.
OWN founder and broker Wilson Leung said his team of 19 agents decided to return to Keller Williams because Leung liked the brokerage’s culture and economic model.
“Will it give us a clear path to growth? Will agents earn more without putting in the same amount of time and effort? Will they be able to earn more? All three? The answer was yes,” Leon said of Keller Williams.
Mr Leong said business in 2023 will be tough overall for real estate agents. Compared to the company’s 2022 sales reported by Real Trends, OWN’s business will be down 32% year-to-date.
OWN Real Estate became a top producer without ever being involved in the luxury housing sector.
“We work in the more affordable part of San Mateo County, so we primarily do high volume rather than high prices,” Leon said, adding that listings in towns like Brisbane and San Bruno He added that he was representing him.
“We serve an underserved population. We choose limited competition. People often don’t put their best effort into non-luxury markets,” says Leon. he said.
The Leon and OWN transaction included the joint listing of 1746 Oakwood Drive in San Mateo, which sold in August 2022 for approximately $2.2 million. The company also co-listed 8 Park Grove Drive in South San Francisco, which sold for $1.9 million in March. 2022.
Herman Chan, an agent with Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty, said Mr. Leung speaks at real estate agent conferences about improving productivity, but he doesn’t try to make himself a star. “He just does his job, that’s all,” Chan said. “He writes excellent business books.”
