YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A York County man is facing multiple weapons violations and drug charges after allegedly trafficking drugs for tools and cars.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, on October 23, officers were assisting Upper Allen Police Department in attempting to contact Nathan Murphy at his home.
Officers discovered Murphy, 35, was driving a yellow motorcycle with an incorrect license plate. The bike was reported stolen to York City Police in July 2023.
Upper Allen police executed a search warrant at Murphy’s home in connection with a separate investigation. When Murphy returned home during the execution of the search warrant, a shotgun was found in his car.
While police entered Murphy’s home, a gun safe was observed open next to an AK-47 style rifle and a handgun. Due to his past criminal history, Murphy is not allowed to possess a firearm.
Carroll Township police said a large amount of drug paraphernalia was also observed inside the residence.
Based on the observations, officers obtained a search warrant related to items viewed inside the home.
During the execution of the warrant, multiple firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia were allegedly recovered.
Numerous items were found inside the home, including tools, an ATV, and cash, some of which was reportedly stolen.
Further investigation revealed that Murphy was suspected of trafficking cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine in exchange for tools, cars, and trailers.
Police say many of the stolen items have been returned to respectful owners, and Murphy faces multiple felony charges related to weapons, drug and theft crimes.
Murphy was arrested on Wednesday, December 20th. He was charged and his bail was denied.
