After 20 years, Dr. Frasier Crane is returning in Paramount+’s new sitcom “Frasier.” The show brings Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer, back to Boston, where viewers first met the character on “Cheers.” The show’s writers have exercised restraint, sparing references to the original series and taking Frasier’s words easy. This Frasier wants to repair his relationship with his son Freddy, who is now grown and working as a firefighter. He also holds a professorship at Harvard University. Writers Joe Crystalli and Chris Harris are co-showrunners. Director James Burrows, who directed “Cheers” and “Frasier,” directed two episodes of the sequel. The series will premiere on October 12th.
Chef and TV personality Michael Chiarello dies at 61 after treatment for allergic reaction
NEW YORK (AP) – Michael Chiarello, the chef known for his Italian-inspired Californian restaurants and winner of the Emmy Award for Best Host for “Easy Entertainment with Michael Chiarello,” has died. He passed away at the age of 61. Chiarello’s restaurant group, Gruppo Chiarello, said he died Friday at a Napa medical center from an allergic reaction that caused anaphylactic shock. One of his restaurants, his Bottega, was featured on Bravo magazine’s “Top Chef” and “Top Chef Masters.” In 2008, he was named Best Newcomer by Zagat Magazine and was named one of America’s Newest Restaurants by both Forbes and Esquire Magazine. In 2016, Chiarello was accused of sexual harassment by two former restaurant employees, who settled the lawsuit the following year.
