Saraya Wa’ad Allah, an Iranian-backed militia in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has expressed support for Hamas’ genocide of Israelis and called for similar mobilization within Bahrain. But despite threats of violence, similar calls for action by militias and other Iranian-backed groups on the island in recent years have gone unfulfilled.
According to Saraya Wa’ad Allah, the Hamas-led attack on Israel “revealed that the house of the spider had been defeated domestically, just as God had fulfilled his promise.” The militia further states that “what the Israeli occupation is experiencing is an inescapable divine promise that this massive act of resistance will obscure this bastard entity and that sooner or later God will order their evacuation.” “It has said.
The militia continues to call on Hamas and other groups within the so-called Islamic Resistance Movement, or other extremist groups within Iran’s sphere of influence, to congratulate them and continue until the Azan. [call to prayer] I hear Takbir shouting from inside.
Looking further locally, Saraya Wa’ad Allah also said that this is proof that Bahrain’s current ruling Al-Khalifa family is hostile to Israel and that normalization should not be pursued. Opposition to normalizing relations with Israel has become a common refrain for Bahraini militias in recent years.
Moreover, Shiite militants say the Hamas-led attack should call for Bahraini’s own mobilization against “Zionists” on the island, calling for a popular uprising of resistance against the Bahraini state and Israelis.
Despite the new threat, this is not the first time Saraya Wa’ad Allah has issued such a statement against Israel. For example, he said that in 2020 he created a dedicated sub-unit to target Israeli interests in Bahrain. He also took credit for threatening a meeting between an Israeli delegation and Bahraini officials in 2019.
Other Iranian-backed Bahraini militias, including Saraya al-Ashtar and Saraya al-Mokhtar, also threaten Israelis on the island.
And despite this call for renewed violence in Bahrain, similar calls from other groups have fallen on deaf ears since 2019, and very little such paramilitary violence has been reported in Bahrain since that year. . Bahrain’s security authorities have effectively shut down most of these Iranian-backed groups, although many remain active online and coordinate with other “Islamic Resistance” groups in Bahrain and across the Middle East. It sends out a message.
Saraya Wa’ad Allah’s statement therefore operates within Iran’s large-scale propaganda campaign against Israel, thereby seeking to present an image of a broad, unified, and multi-pronged threat to the Jewish state. There is. While some threats around the Middle East may be more real, threats from Bahrain typically bark more than they bite.
