FLINT – Goodrich’s Camie Lowinger and Lake Fenton’s Nolan Pinion were the individual winners of the Greater Flint Cross Country Championships held at the Cummings Center in Mount Morris.
Lowinger set a personal record time of 18:18.67, finishing ahead of second-place finisher Mary Richmond (Frankenmuth) with a time of 18:34.65.
Goodrich University’s Layla Jordan took third with a time of 18 minutes, 53.99 seconds, and the Martians finished first with 45 points, ahead of Davison, who had 82 points.
Rounding out the top 10 were Samantha Brown of Clio in 4th place, Nina Frost of Fenton in 5th place, Grace Ticocchi of Grand Blanc in 6th place, Natalie Foltz of Frankenmuth in 7th place and Good in 8th place. It was Rich’s Brooklyn Lowinger and Paige McArdle’s Davison Duo. Sidney Smith was 9th and 10th, respectively.
Following Goodrich and Davison in the top 10 of the team standings are Grand Blanc (100), Frankenmuth (100), Owosso (125), Hartland (141), Fenton (198) and Powers Catholic (275). ), Kearsley (280), Coruna (295).

In the men’s competition, Pinion took first place with a time of 15 minutes, 46.62 seconds.
He will be followed by Ian Forrest of Davison, David Murphy of Powers Catholic, Brett Magnus and Landen Wise of Frankenmuth, Jack Lillywhite of Kearsley, Bryce Gross of Powers, Anthony Plana of Frankenmuth and Hart. Land’s Carson Cooke and Corunna’s Peyton Chandler followed.
Frankenmuth led the team with 69 points, Powers was second with 80 points, Kearsley was third with 106 points, Hartland was fourth with 115 points and Davison was fifth with 122 points.

SVL Tournament
Midland won the Saginaw Valley League Tennis Tournament with 24 points. Saginaw Heritage was second with 10 points, followed by Grand Blanc (8), Lapeer (6), Powers Catholic (6), Midland (5), Mount Pleasant (5) and Bay City Western (3). , Davison (3) and Bey followed. City center (2).

New Lothrop finished second.
New Lothrop finished runner-up in the Team Buddy Invitational, defeating Clio in the semifinals but losing to Saginaw Valley Lutheran in the championship game.
Kara Wendling led the Hornets with 23 kills, Ashlyn Orr had 21 kills, Randan Babinger had 43 assists and Madison Wedding had 28 assists.
Duran lost all four matches at this event. Although he lost to Millington, Sydney Spaulding had six kills, 11 digs and four aces. Samantha Leidig had six assists and four digs in the loss to Valley Lutheran.
Imlay City won 1-2.
Imlay City had a 1-2 record in four-team games at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep. Makayla Blueman led the Spartans with 17 kills, 28 digs and 68 assists. Chloe Blueman had 35 kills, 32 digs and seven assists, and Lexa Forti had 53 digs, 11 assists and eight aces.
