Just days after being named America’s Best Big City, Chicago was well-chosen in a new ranking of the world’s best hotels, with four hotels ranked in the top 50 on the planet.
In fact, two of these hotels were ranked in the top 10 in Condé Nast Traveler’s recently released Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Peninsula Chicago was ranked No. 9, narrowly beating out its Windy City competitors, according to the magazine. 19th hotel poolth The floor received special recognition.
“There you can spend the whole day in tranquil bliss, or even block out your day to alternate between spa treatments and dips in the pool,” the ranking states. Masu.
London House’s rooftop bar offers some of the best views in the city, and Condé Nast ranked it number 10.
“LondonHouse Chcago is all about the views,” the publication says. “The gold coffered ceiling in the ground floor lobby makes a great first impression, but the best rooms, the Vista Rooms, are glass-enclosed and have floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river and the bridge that spans it. Two other Chicago hotels also made the top 50, including the Waldorf Astoria at No. 21 and the Four Seasons at No. 49.
The Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs took the top spot in the ranking, followed by The Venetian in Las Vegas. The Intercontinental in Washington, D.C., Willard checked in with his number three.
