Client Review Rating Score is determined by aggregation of verified responses. Reviewers are individuals who have consulted or hired an attorney/law firm and would like to share their experience with the attorney/law firm with other potential clients. Masu. Reviewers can be anyone who consults or hires a lawyer, including in-house lawyers, corporate executives, small business owners, and individuals.
Martindale-Hubbell will verify that the reviewer is a person with a valid email address. As part of the screening process, respondents will be required to affirm that they have had an initial consultation with, are currently a client of, or have been a client of the designated attorney or law firm, but not Martindale. – Mr. Havel is often unable to confirm the attorney-client relationship. Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ are the gold standard in attorney ratings and have been in use for more than a century. These ratings indicate attorneys whose ethical standards and legal expertise in a particular practice area are widely respected by their peers.
The Martindale-Hubbell peer review evaluation process is the gold standard for its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Attorneys invited to review include both attorneys selected by the peer reviewed attorneys and attorneys independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers have been verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys who have been with her for at least three years and have received a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to be evaluated.
What are the different Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings?*
• AV Priminent®: Best peer evaluation criteria. This rating means that many of our fellow lawyers rate our lawyers at the highest level of professional excellence in terms of their legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards.
• What’s great: Excellent evaluation for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates that the attorney is widely respected by her peers for her high professional performance and ethical standards.
• Noteworthy points: This rating indicates that the attorney is recognized by many of his or her colleagues for high ethical standards.
Lawyers who have undergone peer review since 2009 will see more detailed information, including practice area, summary rating, detailed numeric rating, and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.
Lawyers who receive reviews from colleagues, but not enough to establish a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, display those reviews on our website.
