Mr. Ravi Shankar Shukla, the esteemed Second Secretary (Consul) of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, bids farewell to the Kingdom after over three years of diligent service.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Tribune, Shukla expressed his gratitude to the Bahraini government and highlighted his rich experience at the Indian Embassy.
Mr. Shukla praised the strong support provided by the Bahrain government to Indian nationals residing in the country throughout his tenure.
He acknowledged their continued efforts to ensure the welfare and well-being of the Indian community. He further highlighted the important role played by various social workers and organizations in providing aid and support to Indian nationals in Bahrain.
Looking back on his time in Bahrain, Mr. Shukla expressed his deep gratitude for the country’s rich culture and the kindness of its people.
He had the opportunity to explore Bahrain’s vibrant heritage, visit numerous locations, and interact with prominent representatives.
These experiences gave him a deep understanding of Bahraini culture and allowed him to make lasting connections.
However, Shukla faced major challenges when he took up his post at the Indian embassy in September 2020, at the peak of the coronavirus pandemic.
He recognized that this crisis transcends national borders and affects people around the world.
Despite the challenges, he remained steadfast in his determination to serve the Indian community and provide essential consular services during this unprecedented time.
Mr. Shukla pointed out the importance of legal immigration procedures and provided valuable advice to Indian nationals regarding entry to Bahrain.
“We advise Indian nationals to be aware of the visa regulations and not to come to Bahrain illegally,” he said.
They must always check and recognize their passports. Don’t fall into the trap of coming on a visitor visa and looking for a job.
It is important that you come on a work visa and do not stay in Bahrain without a valid visa. ” Looking ahead, Mr. Shukla expressed his unwavering dedication to his future duties.
He vowed to give his full attention to his new role, demonstrating determination and professionalism to serve the country and its people.
In conclusion, his time in Bahrain not only deepened his understanding of the kingdom’s culture but also strengthened the bond between India and Bahrain.
