Ohio State already has an elite recruiting class in 2024 and is ranked No. 2 nationally in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
But the Buckeyes have their eyes on the No. 1 class of 2025, and they’re already off to a big start in that cycle as well. Ryan Day and Co. has three commitments in the junior class, which tends to be big in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
Ohio State is the heavy favorite to land the five-star Houston (Texas) North Shore cornerback after the pick favors the Buckeyes. Devin Sanchez. One of his predictions comes from On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman, who writes of Sanchez:
“Texas A&M, Ohio State and Alabama have jumped to the front with Sanchez after August and a win over the Buckeyes and a more meaningful roundtable. Ryan Day and Tim Walton, I love where Ohio State has elite DBs. Sanchez won’t rush into making a college decision more than halfway through his junior season, but the Buckeyes have emerged as a team to beat going forward. ”
Sanchez: “The Buckeyes are in front of me”
The visit to the Horseshoe was Sanchez’s second game-day visit this fall. He is scheduled to be at Alabama on Nov. 4 when the Tide hosts LSU. However, according to Sanchez himself, any school that wants to acquire him will have several majors to work on.
“Ohio State is starting to run away with this and becoming a strong front-runner,” he said, completing his third visit to Columbus in the past five months. “My recruiting is still recruiting, but if Ohio State continues this a little longer, my recruiting won’t be as recruiting. My parents like it and think I’ll fit in perfectly. .”
In addition to Ohio State’s development of defensive backs and elite recruiting at other positions, he loves Columbus and the atmosphere around the program.
“It’s just the atmosphere and the fans,” Sanchez told Spiegelman about the environment at Ohio State on Saturday. “When the other team is attacking, especially in close games, the fans can go crazy with how loud they are. He did a great job with a big PBU and a sack.”
Sanchez is listed as the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the NBA. On3 industry rankingThis is a weighted average using all four major recruitment media companies.
