Bahraini bodybuilders won the 1st Gulf Bodybuilding Championship organized by Bahrain Bodybuilding Federation (BBF) at Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Hall, University of Bahrain last Friday and left his mark on history.
The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and was organized by Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. A total of 124 contestants participated. UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Yemen.
Armando Marquez, President of the International Federation of Fitness and Bodybuilding (IFBB), presented the Gulf Cup 1 to BBF President Sami Al Haddad, who is also Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Championship. The UAE came in second place, followed by Saudi Arabia in third place.

Mr. Al Haddad is a member of His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa of SCYS. He congratulated the Chairman and Mr. Sheikh Khalid.
Bahrain won the title with a total of 91 points, winning 29 medals including 12 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze.
UAE (18 medals), Saudi Arabia (10 medals), Oman (5 medals), Kuwait (1 silver medal), Qatar (1 bronze medal) and Yemen took second to seventh place respectively.
